Course description

Do you know how to talk to someone worried or distressed?

This foundation-level SAGE & THYME workshop provides transferrable skills for staff at all levels, working in clinical and non-clinical positions to enhance care for those in distress or with emotional concerns.

Learning outcomes:

  • A memorable structured approach for getting into and out of a conversation
  • How to empower patients/carers who are worried or distressed
  • Communication-based skills that are evidence-based

This interactive workshop uses small group work, lectures, and rehearsals to teach participants how to have an evidence-based, structured conversation with someone who has concerns or is distressed.

Anyone can use the skills taught to provide person-centred support to those with emotional concerns.

Certificates of attendance will be issued to participants.
